The 8.50am Bell
When I hear the 8:50am bell
I feel the urge for the 3pm bell to tune
its glorious tone at that very second.
It makes me want to wake up from the nightmare
that lays ahead waiting to corrupt my brain.
It is the reason I dread bedtime because I don’t dare to sleep
to the nightmare that is the 8:50am bell.
And I wish I had ear muffs
to save my ears from it’s dreadful tune.
It is an eagles screech piercing my ears
like a glimmering sewing needle puncturing a hole in a velvet cloth.
