A cliff-hanger by Josh

It was a perfect day and the sky was as bright as a light. My Mum and I were just sitting on the couch and I zoomed out to the backyard and started to play basketball.

The sky began to go black. After two minutes, the sky was a black as coal. I sprinted inside to tell mum. “Earthquake!” I yelled.

We both ducked for cover and then got up. We ran outside. The ground rose, then went down. I was going to go inside but I was too frightened. Mum went in; she was going as slow as a turtle. I heard the creaks. Mum was gone.
