Fractured Fairy Tales

We have been writing 'fractured fairy tales'. A fractured fairy tale is a story that uses a fairy tale you know and changes the setting, characters, points of view or plot. See if you can guess which well known fairy tale was the inspiration for Ben T's story...

The Three Bad Teachers and the School Inspector - By Ben T

Once there lived three teachers. One was 29, one was 34 and one was 40. One day a school opened up and these teachers applied for positions.

The teachers arrived at the school. When they got to their classrooms they found out they had to finish the roofs. The youngest teacher made his roof out of straw and the middle teacher made his out of rotten wood. The oldest teacher made his roof out of iron.

When they finished making their roofs, there was a big bang. The school front doors burst open and the school inspector came in. He barged up to the youngest teacher’s classroom. He knocked on the door and said, “Open up, or I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll close your school down!”
The young teacher was horrified! The school inspector opened the door and the young teacher ran out like a lightning bolt to the middle teacher’s class. Once he was inside he said, “The school inspector’s here!”
They both cried in the corner until there was a knock at the door – it was the inspector. “Open up, or I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll close your school down!” he yelled.
The two teachers were horrified, and when the school inspector opened the door he said, “I have you now!”
At that moment, they all heard a war cry and the oldest teacher came running in with an iron cane. When he was about to hit the inspector the roof gave way and the wood smacked the oldest teacher in the head. The inspector ran out of the door and left.

The next day, the school was closed down. The teachers went to the train station and they all became bad subway singers.
