Last month our Russley Writers were busy penning poems for the Metro Poems on Buses competition. The results are out, and unfortunately none of our poems were among the winning selection. The standard and number of entries from authors all over Canterbury was very high, and our students were competing in the 'Under 18 Youth Category' - so pretty tough competition!
Metro Canterbury said:
"The judges decision was a tough one and we thank you all for entering, you all did a great job and the winning poems will start being displayed on the buses soon. Even if you didn't win a prize we are going to include snippets from all of your poems in a mural which will be showcased in the Bus Interchange. It will be a beautiful collection of your thoughts about Canterbury!"
Well done to all our writers who entered. I look forward to checking out the mural at the bus interchange and seeing if I can spot snippets of Russley poetry!
