Poems for the Christmas Holidays

Kiwi Beach | by James DW

Crazy Grandad surfing
Wrinkly Nana sun-bathing
Psycho Golden retriever swimming
Noisy Families playing cricket
Brother piercing through the water like a silver bullet
Delightful barbeque smoke flying
Amazing mum pulls out the pavlova

Summer time at the pools | by Chloe S

Pools busy as a beehive
Playful children splashing loudly
Worried lifeguards watching intensely
Sun as bright as a star in the night sky
Ice blocks as tasty as Christmas dinner

Avonhead park | by Sara

Large trees whispering
Fluffy dogs barking
Parents talking about Christmas
Spiky bushes swaying
Grass moving like calm waves

Twinkling Sumner | by Moaz

Rough ocean crashing like demolition derby cars
Soft sand crawling like golden spiders
Talkative seagulls squawking like screaming elephants
Jagged seashells twinkling like stars

Trip to the Park after Christmas Lunch | by Lucas Y

rusty swings squeaking
slick frisbee flying
long creek rippling
emerald grass swaying
sky as clear as a wine glass
sun shining like a christmas tree

The Beautiful Garden | by Lucas Y

Tall evergreens shimmer
Tuxedo Cat runs freely
Hungry lawnmower devours
Chirping birds soar
Flowers show off their petals like a peacock
The smell of fresh sausages
air thick with black smoke
