It's raining cheetahs and wolves in Leah's poem

I love the language Leah uses in her poem. She used a cold, wet Christchurch day to go on a poem hunt for wintry words to splash throughout her poem. I love the 'cheetahs and wolves' rain!

It’s Raining Cheetahs and Wolves

The wind howls,
the storm has begun.

The rain spits and splatters on the road
like it’s raining cheetahs and wolves.

The heavy hail makes puddles.
Splash! Splash!

Sleet slowly turns into cold,
dancing snow.

Tired leaves are shivering
and trees are moving side to side like snakes.

I come home and have chicken soup
and hot chocolate.
